FOOD SAFETY FOR SENIORS

This workshop discusses the importance of food safety to seniors.  As we age our ability to fight-off dangerous bacteria that may invade the body through the food we eat decreases.  Preventing food borne illness is the key to reducing the millions of illnesses and thousands of deaths each year from dangerous microorganisms.  This workshop will help you learn to:

            Recognize Foodborne illness
Follow the four basic rules for prevention- clean, separate, cook, chill
            Use a food thermometer
How to be safe when eating out
