4-H
-- Making the Best Better
|
|
|
|
4-H is
the largest youth-serving organization in the world. In Idaho,
membership is open to all youth ages 5 to 19 who meet certain
membership guidelines. Members between the ages of 5 to 8
(second grade) are in a noncompetitive program call ed
Cloverbuds.
Youth from 8 (third grade) to 18 years (or still in
high school) can compete for various awards in the traditional 4-H
program.
All 50 states and more than 80 countries world-wide have
4-H programs.
People of all ages participate in 4-H,
from pre-schoolers to grandparents. The list of 4-H
projects is
so varied that every
4-H member
and adult volunteer is sure to be able to find something of
interest.
Contact the
office or e-mail: np4h@uidaho.edu

KYG is a program for 4-H members to
learn how the government works. They have mock trials and hearings
to show how a bill gets passed. It is a fun hands-on learning
experience. You meet a lot of new friends and get to spend time
with old ones. You also get to meet the representatives from your
county and eat breakfast with them. All together it is a 3-day
trip that is a lot of fun. You will want to go the next year.
