Got Calcium
Nutrition
education is critical for the health and well being of children. Children
and teens have the best opportunity to build defenses against
osteoporosis, but instead of drinking milk, they’re consuming
soda pop and fruit-flavored drinks.
Twin Falls Extension Educator Rhea Lanting is making a
difference in students’ choices with nutrition education at
the third grade level. |
| |
Healthy Diabetes Plate
37,000
Idahoans are already diagnosed with diabetes and an estimated
18,500 have it unknowingly.
"Healthy Diabetes Plate" is a cooking school program for
people with diabetes and their families.
In addition to nutrition and health tips several recipes
are shared with the participants at each session by Twin Falls County Extension Educator
Rhea Lanting.
Now
is the time to take charge of your diabetes. |

Welcome To The Real World
This is an active, hands-on real-life simulation
which gives young people the opportunity to explore career
opportunities and make lifestyle and budget choices similar to
those adults face on a daily basis.
After investigating potential careers, program
participants receive a monthly salary for their chosen career
and then proceed through the Real World activity,
deducting taxes, determining a savings amount, and spending
their monthly “salary” on the necessary and luxury items
that reflect the career and lifestyle they have chosen.
This program is available for schools, youth groups, and
other organizations by calling 208-436-7184 or
email
us. |
