The University of
Idaho Master Gardener Program is an educational opportunity
designed to meet the gardening information needs of the
community. The program's purpose is to provide technical
assistance and information in the area of home horticulture to
people in the community through qualified volunteers.
Applicants receive basic
horticultural training on a variety of topics including lawn care,
insects, diseases, weeds pesticide safety, soil and water
management, fruits and vegetables, composting, tree care, and
annuals and perennials. Participants are required to return
30 hours of volunteer time in their community through approved
county Extension programs.
Should the
Master Gardener Program
interest you, classes are in January, February, and March each year.
