4-H'er in a shooting sports 
project 4-H. . . Developing all youth to reach their fullest potential through: developing life skills and learning by doing utilizing the knowledge of the land-grant university system

4-H enables youth to have fun, meet new people, learn new life skills, build self-confidence, learn responsibility, and set and achieve goals! Youth learn by doing and receive an award for a project.   4-H builds the leaders of tomorrow.

4-H is the largest youth-serving organization in the world. 

In Idaho, membership is open to all youth ages 5 to 19 who meet certain membership guidelines. 

 5 to 8 (second grade) are in a noncompetitive program call Cloverbuds. 

 8 (third grade) to 18 years (or still in high school) can compete for various awards in the traditional 4-H programs as well as be involved in many leadership opportunities. 

All 50 states and more than 80 countries world-wide have 4-H programs. People of all ages participate in 4-H programs, from pre-schoolers to grandparents.
