"The Joy of 4-H is seeing young people grow
through their accomplishments"
4-H. . . Developing
all youth to reach their fullest potential through: developing life skills
and learning by doing utilizing the knowledge of the land-grant university
system
4-H enables youth to have fun, meet new people,
learn new life skills, build self-confidence, learn
responsibility, and set and achieve goals! Youth learn by doing
and receive an award for a project. 4-H
builds the leaders of tomorrow.
4-H is
the largest youth-serving organization in the world.
In
Idaho, membership is open to all youth ages 5 to 19 who
meet certain membership guidelines.
5 to 8 (second grade) are in a noncompetitive
program call Cloverbuds.
8 (third
grade) to 18 years (or still in high school) can compete
for various awards in the traditional 4-H
programs
as well as be involved in many leadership opportunities.
All 50 states and more than 80 countries world-wide have 4-H programs.
People of all ages participate in 4-H programs,
from pre-schoolers to grandparents.
