Idaho gardener, whether you live in southern Idaho's desert
valleys or along northern Idaho's shaded creeks, whether your
passion is parsley or penstemons, you can come home to a
wealth of Idaho gardening information on a new University of
Idaho web site,

Developed by faculty of University of Idaho Extension, the web
site encompasses gardening basics; fruit, vegetables and herbs;
trees, shrubs and vines; lawn and turf; herbaceous ornamentals;
insects, diseases and weeds; garden wildlife, and landscape
planning. Steve Love, University of Idaho Extension horticulture
team leader, calls it a "'one-stop shop' for those who wish to
approach gardening from and educated perspective."
The web site, "Idaho Landscapes and Gardens," includes
information grounded in Idaho's climate and growing conditions
as well as links to other outstanding sties maintained by the
nation's land-grant universities or other organizations.
Users can learn how to prune their grapes or help beneficial
insects flourish, how high to mow their lawns, how to design a
native-plant landscape when to harvest their vegetables or prune
their shrubs, how to save water or discourage raccoons, how to
identify the best turf grasses for their needs and the right
ornamentals for their site-and hundreds of other worthwhile tips
for rewarding gardening.
Seasonal topics, Master Gardener
program details and the opportunity to e-mail questions to a
University of Idaho Extension educator round out the site.
