Volunteer Development

Volunteer Support and Training Program

4-H/Youth development also focuses on educating adults on important youth development principles and practices, to ensure that 4-H youth development programs create positive opportunities for young people to reach their full potential.

The following trainings are available throughout the District typically the first part of the year.

  • County Fair Volunteer and Superintendent Training - This training has concurrent sessions for livestock and family consumer science projects.  These sessions allow for specific information to be brought together and discussed. Past participants said the program changed the way they think about their county fair and youth programs and “a lot of what I learned I can and will use.”  One participant stated, “I learned a lot more than I thought I would and am so glad I attended.”
  • District Horse and Pony Leader Training- This training is requested by volunteers topics have covered, Hippology, Public Use Horse Trails, Model Horse Projects and many others.
  • Leader trainings series (Minidoka link)
