We are currently transitioning our web presence to new software, and plan to add many resources in the near future, so please stay tuned. In the meantime we want to briefly describe our major programs and services in the county, and invite you to use the contact information at left to get in touch with us.
The major Extension programs delivered out of the Clearwater County Extension office are 4-H and Youth Development, Community and Economic Development, and Natural Resource Education.
For 4-H and Youth Development our office coordinates the county-wide 4-H program, as well as conducts other youth development programs throughout the year such as the Fifth Grade Farm and Forest Fair and the Sixth Grade Forestry Tour.
In Community and Economic Development we provide leadership education and consultation to community groups and community leaders, facilitate the identification of community projects and the acquisition of funding for those projects, and incorporate an economic focus to natural resource education.
For Natural Resource Education we offer adult education workshops, seminars, and field days related to forestry, pasture and rangeland management, fish and wildlife, ponds and wetlands, horticulture and small-scale agriculture, and other topics that deal with land and resource management in the county.
In addition to our major programs, our office provides access to publications on a variety of agricultural, natural resources, youth development, and family nutrition topics. We also process soil samples, obtain diagnoses of plant diseases and insects, and provide information and technical services on food processing and preservation.
As many of our programs are new, and we are continually in the process of developing new programs and services to meet the needs of Clearwater County clients, please check back with our website and let us know what programs or services you are interested in.
