¨       The population for 2006 is 21,365.

¨       The poverty rate in 2005 was 16%.

¨       The number of jobs in 2006 was 12,854, with an annual average wage per job of

          $27,130.

¨       The unemployment rate as of December 2007 was 3/1%.

¨       The proportion of Hispanic residents grew from 9.0% in 1980, to 13.4% in 1990, to 23.5% in 2006.

¨       The influx of Hispanics into Idaho intensified from mide-2005 and mid-2006.  The Census Bureau estimated that the population of Idaho's largest minority jumped nearly 6.4 percent, more than twice the state's overall population growth rate.

¨       31.5% of Cassia County’s population was under 18 in 2006, in contrast to 26.7% in Idaho and 25.0% in the US.

¨       In 2006, 55.6% of the population was 18 to 64 years old , compared to 61.9% in Idaho and 62.7% in the US.

¨       Cassia County’s median age in 2000 was 31.1 compared to 33.2 in Idaho and 35.3 in the US.
