Adult Nutrition Classes:
Steps to a New You:
This is a program designed to help participants eat healthy using
a non-diet approach, cope with emotions without food, make peace
with food, enjoy physically active living, and accept and value
body-size diversity. This is a multi-class program, but the
concepts can be taught in one class. This is a pedometer
walking program that focuses on increasing physical activity,
healthy eating habits and body image.
Classes are held at the Cassia
County Extension Office, 1013 West 16th Street, Burley

Meal Time in Less Time: This class teaches
individuals how to plan meals, shop to save time and money, and
prepare healthy meals using time-saving procedures. It can
be taught in one, two or three sessions.
Food Safety Classes:
Preserve @ Home:
This is a web-based food preservation class to teach individuals
how to safely preserve a variety of food products.
Participants learn how to produce high quality preserved foods and
the science behind food preservation and food safety.
Preserve @ home can also be taken as a correspondence course for
those who do not have Internet access. You can download the
registration form:

Ready Set Food Safe: The purpose of this workshop
is to teach food safety to high school students. Students can
receive a State of Idaho-approved certificate in food safety.
Germ City: Designed to be used during festivals,
fairs or in schools. This workshop helps teach youth the
importance of washing their hands. With the use of Glitter
bug lotion and black lights, we are able to demonstrate how much
bacteria is on our hands and what you have to do to remove it.
Master Food Preservers: Six session training.
This course will cover all aspects of preserving foods, from food
spoilage to nutritional and economic considerations in food
preservation. Discussions, coupled with "hands on"
activities will fine-tune your skills in preservation.
Community Development
Hospitality/Customer Service: This class works
with employees in the community to provide the best customer
service possible. It focuses on helping employees find the
assets in their communities and improve business for all.
Family Resource Management
A Stronger You: This is a strength training program
for people 45 and older. The focus of this program is to
teach proper use of weights to increase strength, balance and
independence.
The program includes 14 classes.

Dollar Decision$: This basic financial management
workshop is designed for people who are new to money management or
who desire to improve their knowledge and skills. Topics
include tracking expenses, identifying spending leaks, setting
financial goals, developing a spending and saving plan, decreasing
expenses and increasing income.
Who Gets Grandma's Yellow Pie Plate: This is a
family focused educational program offering considerations for
transfer of personal property. Personal property transfer is
an issue frequently ignored until a crisis occurs and immediate
decisions need to be made. The program stresses six key
factors for successful non-titled property transfers.
Married and Loving It! Five class series. This
workshop is designed to teach participants how to enjoy sharing
their lives with each other.
