4-H Enrollment Helps
Enrollment
deadline:
May 9th, 2008 but all those with animals must
enroll one week before animals are weighed in.
Beef:
Weigh-in date: Saturday, March 15th, Burley
Livestock Auction Yard,
8:00-10:00 AM. The steer must be on halter.
Swine:
Weigh-in date: Saturday, April 12th, Fairgrounds, 8:00-10:00 AM
Suggested initial weigh-in of 50 lbs with 75 lbs. the maximum.
Dairy:
Weigh-in date: Saturday, May 3rd, Fairgrounds, 8:00-10:00 AM
Rabbit:
Weigh-in and tattoo date: Monday, July 7th, at
5:30-6:30 PM. at the
fairgrounds
Sheep:
Weigh-in date: Saturday, June 7th, Fairgrounds,
8:00-10:00 AM.
Turkey:
Weigh-in date: Thursday, June 26th at 6:00 PM at the
Uscola
Building

Forms:
Please
remember that there are separate enrollment forms, one for the
leaders and one for the members. In order for the computer to
accept a name, all information needs to be included. (Birthday
means date of birth not just month and day.) In
parent information, a phone number is important. If you live in
the country but not on a farm, the residence is rural. This
information will not be given out to the public.
In order for a registration to be accepted at the Extension
Office, the form must be filled out completely which includes
the photo consent and the code of conduct on the back.
Age
requirement:
Age as of January 1 of current year
Cloverbud----------------5 through 7
Junior-----------------------8 through 11
Intermediate-----------12 through 14
Senior---------------------15 through 18
New 2008
state code lists and projects are available.
Every new
leader is required to fill out an application, have references
checked and have a background check before they can take a New
Leader Training and Child Protection Training Class. Please
contact the Extension Office for more information. All leaders
are expected to attend six leaders council meetings a year and
attend yearly Civil Rights and Child Protection Training which
will be held prior to Leader’s Council starting in March.
The meeting in July is mandatory for the leader of the club, or
a responsible adult to attend.
Ultrasound will be required for sheep, beef and swine at Fair
