The control and management of noxious weeds in Idaho begins with an understanding of the problem the state faces if these weeds aren't controlled.  Please report plants that are new to the area, or any that you are unable to identify. Being aware of what weeds are in the area helps build a strategy that will lead to control and eradication of the weeds in Camas County, as well as across the state.

The Idaho Noxious Weed Law requires landowners to eradicate noxious weeds on their land, except in special management zones.  Legally, this requires prevention of their above-ground growth for at least 2 years, although the seeds of most will last much longer.  The counties are required to enforce that law, and the State of Idaho is required to ensure that counties do so.
