July 16 University of Idaho/USDA-ARS Twilight Tour. 5-8 pm at the University of Idaho Extension & Research Center, 1693 S. 2700 W. Aberdeen, ID (east of the Hazard Creek Golf Course). Free family barbecue; tour the center, view displays, learn more about the contributions of agricultural and family and consumer sciences to food quality and family health. Jul 15-17 Southern Idaho Livestock Camp, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., at the Jerome County Fairgrounds. Registration is $75, and is due by June 2. (Contact Cindy Kinder, 934-4417)
Jul 17 Southern Idaho Livestock Judging Contest, in conjunction with the Livestock Camp. Livestock Camp attendance is not required to participate. The cost is $25 per team, which includes lunch. Registration is due by July 1. (Contact Cindy Kinder, 934-4417)

International Programs:
Outbound Programs: Summer 2008 trips are to Costa Rica, Norway, Finland, Australia, and Japan. For more information see International Programs on the State 4-H website. Applications for delegates and chaperones are due in the State 4-H Office with a $350 refundable deposit by January 15. Scholarships for both chaperones and delegates are available from several sources.
Summer 2008 Inbound Exchanges: Idaho is hosting students from Japan, Finland, and Costa Rica in 2008. We need host families or at least 24 delegates and 2-3 chaperones. Applications for delegates from Costa Rica and Finland sould be submitted ASAP as Idaho will be competing with other states for delegate and chaperone placement. Host family applications for Japanese delegates and chaperones are due April 15.

Year Long Student Exchanges: Call (208) 885-7700 or email czender@uidano.edu to refer possible host families for the 2008-2009 school year. Idaho will be hosting students from Japan and the former Soviet republics. Referrals should be made as early as possible to secure a placement commitment from the local high school.
