Cooperative Extension is an educational system linking county Extension offices with the University of Idaho and the United States Department of Agriculture. The purpose of the Cooperative Extension System is to provide help with issues and problems that individuals, families and communities face in daily living. Professional educators, located in county offices provide existing and research-based knowledge and information through bulletins, classes, workshops, and conferences.

The Blaine County Extension Office is located in Hailey, Idaho, just 12 miles south of the famous Sun Valley Ski Area. The population in Blaine County is 17,213.   The Wood River defines a valley which embraces the towns of Sun Valley, Ketchum, Hailey and Bellevue (from north to south).  Moving further south, the terrain flattens into the "Bellevue triangle" which is an agricultural area producing malting barley, alfalfa hay, and livestock.  The town of Picabo, nestled against southern hills defines the end of the Wood River Valley.  There you'll find Silver Creek, world famous for it's trout fishing.  The rural community of Carey is just over the hills to the east and completes the Blaine County Communities.

The University of Idaho provides equal opportunity in education and employment on the basis of race, color religion, national origin, gender, age, disability, or status as a Vietnam-Era veteran as required by state and federal laws.

In compliance with the Americans with disabilities Act of 1990, those requesting reasonable accommodations for a class need to contact our office one week prior to the class at 302 1st Ave. South, Hailey, ID 83333 or phone 208-788-5585.
