4-H and Scholarships      

 

Eligibility qualifications, program area and amount of scholarships vary.

 

The Ada County 4-H Endowment Fund, Inc. This scholarship fund has
been established to recognize outstanding 4-H’ers in Ada County
who wish to further their education and use the skills they gained in
the 4-H program. Each year one 4-H’er will be awarded the scholarship
to assist in attending a college or post-secondary school of his or her choice. Applications are due April 15th and are available at Ada County Extension Office.

 

.Ada County Farm Bureau Scholarship Fund. Scholarships are available
for those enrolling in an agriculture related major at any institution for higher education. Applications are due to the Ada County Farm Bureau
Office by March 15. Applications are available at the Extension Office.

The O. M. Plummer Scholarship is available to seniors who have participated in livestock projects and activities beyond the county level.  Each year the Oregon Community Foundation offers a scholarship
to an Idaho 4-H member who has participated in livestock showing
or judging beyond the county level. Applicants must be a senior
in high school, a member of a 4-H livestock club and have taken livestock
projects for at least 3 years.  The amount of the scholarship has
varied. Applications are available at the Extension Office or on the state
4-H web page. Applications are due April 15.

 

Guide Dog Scholarship is available to seniors who have raised guide dip puppies.  Applications are due in the county office by Marl and to the State 4-H Office about mid April.

 

Idaho Attorney General Scholarship.  The Idaho Attorney General’s
Office has established a college scholarship program for 4-H and
FFA members. Two $750 scholarships will be awarded annually to
freshmen at each of Idaho’s state funded institutions of higher learning.
Applicants need three years involvement in either Idaho FFA or
4-H programs. Scholarships will be based on financial need. Interested
students should contact the financial aid office of the school
they plan to attend for application forms and deadlines.

 
Idaho 4-H Endowment Fund College Scholarship. The Idaho 4-H
Endowment Fund offers college scholarships to assist Idaho 4-H
members. Applicants must be 16 - 20 years of age and have been a
4-H member for at least 4 years, at least two years during high
school. The application is available on the Idaho 4-H web page
or at the Extension Office. Applications are due April 15.
